Not all learning is about practicing more scales, working on a new piece of music, or hitting every note perfectly. The most vital part may be providing an opportunity for communication.
Cello Pathways is a place where cellists can communicate, learn, explore, ask questions, share their experience, and meet other people on the same path.
There is no shortage of venues where one can learn the notes to play. But here, in addition to the notes, there are opportunities to discuss all sorts of things that surround the musical notes.
What have you been researching? What has caught your attention? What has been holding you back?
Sometimes, it may take another person’s experience for you to realize what you need to ask. And that is precisely why these conversations are not based on a strict set of questions or an agenda.
In some classes, there will be playing, demonstration, listening, and learning from each other. In others, there will not be any playing, only cellists coming together to talk, listen to one another, exchange thoughts, and learn from each other.

Explore techniques, improvise, play with musical ideas, different styles, and new ways of playing the cello.

Partake in casual discussions regarding anything and everything that you think of as a cellist.

Occasionally, the questions or experiences of another cellist can revolutionize the way you approach your own playing.
Casual discussion on Mooz for chatting, posing queries, idea sharing, and networking.
You don’t need to come with the “right” question.
You don’t need to come prepared with any kind of preparation.
Nor do you need to always play your cello.
Bring your ideas, experiences, frustrations, discoveries, questions or just come and listen.
There is space for the dialogue to evolve in its own way.
This isn’t just about making better cellists.
It’s about making a community of cellists.
Whichever Stage of Your Journey You’re On, You’ll Find a Home Here
Whether you’re coming back to your cello after a long break, grappling with an aspect of playing that has long been difficult for you, trying out improvisation for the first time, or just meeting up with other cellists, there’s space here for you.
You don’t have to have it all figured out yet.
That’s one reason why we’re here.
“Some of the most useful things I have learned about music haven’t been taught by somebody saying which note I should be playing. Instead, it has happened by listening, trying things out, asking questions, exchanging ideas and hanging around with other musicians.”
That is the kind of environment I hope Cello Pathways will create for us a community in which we can learn from each other and discuss the issues important to us as cellists.
